Clyde Marine Recruitment first to achieve MLC accreditation

April 15, 2010 04:02 by manager

It is important for us that we always give the highest levels of service and piece of mind to both those seeking work and companies looking to engage new staff. Part of our policy of achieving this has been to be as qualified a company as we can be. So we are very pleased to announce that Clyde Marine Recruitment is the first UK manning office to be approved by the Lloyds Register.

The approval is for the provision of manpower to ship owners, ship managers and ship operators incorporating the requirements of the International Labour Organisation’s Maritime Labour Convention, 2006 (MLC 2006) as applicable to recruitment and placements.  This accreditation replaces the former ASMO (Approved Seafarer Manning Office) which Clyde Marine Recruitment were also first to achieve in the UK.

This is a great accomplishment and full credit for receiving this must go all our staff for the hard work they’ve put in. It is vital that anyone considering us, be it a company looking to use our connections and expertise in the marine recruitment market or someone looking for work, can immediately see we take our commitments very seriously. This accreditation is testament to that.

Work at Sea, no experience necessary!

February 1, 2010 04:00 by manager
Usually one of the requirements for working at sea is experience and qualifications however from time to time we do need people without either and this is one of those occasions. We are looking for Cabin Attendants to work onboard the Norman Arrow, the LD Lines fast ferry on the Portsmouth to Le Harve route. Essentially we are looking for hard working, reliable people with a bubbly personality and a sense of humour, the work involves dealing with customers on the vessel and ensuring the appearance of the vessel is kept well. No previous experience is necessary as full training will be given however a background in hotel or catering would be helpful. These positions have an excellent pay rate and we’ll be interviewing for them this month so if you think you fit the bill then please send your CV to: cabincrew@clydemarine.com. We look forward to hearing from you.

Employment Opportunities in Portsmouth

January 21, 2010 16:11 by manager
The Norman Arrow, which is crew managed by Clyde Marine Recruitment is being re-deployed to start a new seasonal run from Portsmouth to Le Havre commencing March through until October. The high speed vessel was a brand new addition to the LD Lines fleet last year, when it ran from Dover to Boulogne.  It has been laid up over the winter in Boulogne and will soon commence its journey to Portsmouth to start its daily run to Le Havre.  As there is limited accommodation onboard, Clyde Marine Recruitment are now recruiting crew within the Portsmouth area.  In particular we're looking for Master, Chief Engineers with Unlimited Class I Certificate of Competency (CoC), Chief Officers and Assistant Engineers with Unlimited Class II Certificate of Competency (CoC).  We offer an excellent employment package, with the possibility of seasonal work leading to permanent positions within the fleet. Positions are walk on/off (some accommodation available locally).  Whilst fast craft experience is preferred it is not essential. Candidates should apply online at www.clydemarinerecruitment.com/LDLines

ISO Accreditation in the Shipping industry

November 13, 2009 06:12 by manager
The need to meet extremely high standards and to be accountable are paramount in the marine industry. We have recently undergone a full audit by Lloyds Register. I’m pleased to say this was successful and we will shortly be replacing our existing BVQ ISO accreditation. We will be moving to ISO 9001:2008 and this helps ensure we follow a thorough quality process in all areas of recruitment and crew management. We feel this is beneficial for both applicants and clients alike. It obviously helps give piece of mind to ship owners and managers who rely on us to provide staff, however it also means that our applicants know that they will be considered for suitable positions and they have the added security of knowing our standards are high and we follow a process when placing them within the shipping industry.
