For example we currently are looking for Engineers with Unlimited Chief and Second Tickets. There is a high demand for 3rd and 2nd Engineers with Senior Tickets currently too. Many of these postions are needed for RoRo’s, the vacancies are temporary but with a view to being permanent. For the 3rd Engineer positions a 2nd ticket is required so that when needed they can step up to 2nd Engineer. We of course cast our net widely so all nationalities are accepted. We recently visited Bulgaria to conduct interviews and
judge the standard of applicant available; it was generally excellent. Bulgaria has a
strong maritime history and Bulgarians crew all over the world. Working right
across the marine sector Bulgarians are found in roro, cruise ships and
conventional cargo vessels. All hold basic safety certificates such as PST,
PSSR, Fire Fighting and First Aid and many hold crowd management certificates
too. Their English is generally excellent and as they have experience at
sea they will be a great resource for our clients to tap into when
required.
